self-shot, self portrait with clay

In an ongoing series of self shot portraits, I express my joy and connection with fungi and its growth patterns. I replicate a variety of fungal species with air-drying clay and adhere the fragments to my skin in a manner that suggests growth from my body. This series explores self-discovery, reflection of ones past, and the cycle in which parts of our being will die for new growth to submerge.
